First LEED Gold Certified Winery on Best Coast

Skyscrapers, sports facilities, and now wineries--there is no end to the hipness of LEED certification. HALL's St. Helena Winery in Napa has gone green in a big way by being named a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold Certification recipient for outstanding chutzpah in the environmental department. 

Through radiant floors, solar energy, water conservation and conscientious building choices, HALL's became the first LEED Gold winery in California distinguished by the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Green Building Rating System.

HALL slings cab sav and it follows that the organic winery would want to do everything possible to preserve the Napa Valley ecosystem--its bread and butter. Ski resorts went green to preserve their bread and butter, too, and developers are getting tax breaks for building green.
